Setting up firmware update rules

Last Updated :

Overview

By default, provisioned Poly and Yealink devices will automatically upgraded to the latest supported firmware version. If you don't want devices to be automatically upgraded, you can set rules for the firmware version allowed on devices. This allows you to keep specific device models up to 2 versions behind the latest supported firmware version.

This article covers:

Prerequisites

  • Pro, Business, or Education account
  • Account owner or admin privileges
  • Zoom Phone license

Limitations

  • Adding a firmware update rule will only allow you to keep the firmware version up to 2 versions behind the latest supported firmware version. When you have a rule that is set to 3 or more versions behind, you will see a warning in the web portal asking you to update the rule.
  • Not all Poly and Yealink devices support firmware update rules. If you don't see a certain device when adding a rule, it isn't supported.
