Resetting to Factory Default and Installing Custom Firmware on a Yealink Phone

Overview

Follow this article to reset your Yealink phone and install custom firmware.

Prerequisites

Obtaining the Phone's IP Address

T4 series without touchscreen

  1. Press the Menu button. 
  2. Use the phone's directional pad to select Status.
  3. Make note of the IPv4 address.

T4 series with a touchscreen

  1. Tap Menu on the home screen.
  2. T4 series with a touchscreen: Tap Status.
  3. Make note of the IPv4 address.

T5 series with a touchscreen

  1. Swipe left from the home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Make note of the IPv4 address.

Accessing the Phone's Web Interface

  1. Open a web browser on a computer that's connected to the same network as the phone.
  2. Enter the phone's IP address from the previous section.
  3. Log in to the phone's web interface as an admin.
    Note: The default admin username and password is admin / admin. If you do not know your username or password, contact the vendor of the phone. If you set the admin password globally, you can view the password in the Zoom web portal.

Resetting to Factory Default using the Web Interface (Recommended)

Note: Older Yealink devices may have a slightly different web interface that has the green header bar.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Upgrade.

  2. Click Reset to Factory.
  3. Click OK to confirm.

Resetting to Factory Default Using the Phone's Interface (Optional)

Follow this section if you are unable to access the phone's web interface.

T4 series without touchscreen

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Use the phone's directional pad to select and enter Advanced settings.
    Note: You will be prompted to enter the admin password (default is admin). If you do not know the admin password, contact the vendor of the phone. 
  3. Use the phone's directional pad to select Reset Config > Reset to Factory Settings.

T4 series with a touchscreen

  1. Tap Menu on the home screen.
  2. Tap Advanced.
    Note: You will be prompted to enter the admin password (default is admin). If you do not know the admin password, contact the vendor of the phone. 
  3. Tap Reset Config > Reset to Factory Settings.

T5 series with a touchscreen

  1. Swipe left from the home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Advanced Settings section. 
    Note: To see the advanced settings, you need to enter the admin password (default is admin). If you do not know the admin password, contact the vendor of the phone. 
  4. Tap Reset Config.
  5. Tap Reset to Factory Settings.

 

Installing the Custom Firmware Using the Web Interface

Note: Older Yealink devices may have a slightly different web interface that has the green header bar.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Upgrade.

  2. Click Browse or Choose File, find the directory of the custom firmware file, then double-click to select it.
    Note: See the supported devices list to download or verify the custom firmware version.
  3. Click Upload to start the firmware upgrade process. The phone will reboot and install the custom firmware. The process will take 2-3 minutes.
